The Opportunity

This position works out of our Johannesburg location in the Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Division. In this division we’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott’s diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people. Our rapid diagnostics solutions are helping address some of the world’s greatest healthcare challenges.

As the logistics administrator you will act as a liaison between sales, logistics, finance, quality and couriers in order to streamline delivery processes and transactional flows.

What You’ll Do

  • Assisting with import, export and local shipment queries and quotes
  • Process complete DSV documents when required (ASN, short dated or expired inventory, etc.)
  • Warehouse SAP transactions (Daily PGIs, Goods receipt and write offs, etc.) – add all SAP transactions.
  • Tracking export documents, checking them for accuracy and arranging for VOC as needed / required, attaching documents on SAP, and updating the export report.
  • Working closely with finance department on monthly recons for revenue recognition.
  • Inventory management
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the Abbott Quality System
  • Other related tasks to support cross functions.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain
  • Must have up to 5 years working experience in Logistics / supply chain.
  • Warehouse & inventory Management
  • 3PL Management can be an advantage.
  • Must have experience in managing and controlling exports, inbound (Sea freights / Airfreights)
  • Customs requirement – understanding.
