As a fast-growing System Engineering team within Safety Critical Product organization, we are applying our best research and engineering capabilities to new products for which not only positioning performance, but also integrity and safety matters. Nowadays satellite-based positioning technology is widely accepted and integrated within many non-safety-critical tasks in mass-market applications, such as mobile phones and automotive infotainment, and also in some safety-critical tasks within dedicated limited-market applications especially in general aviation. We are pushing the technology further to meet high standards of safety-critical tasks within future automotive mass-market applications aiming to highly automated and autonomous driving.
As a ( Senior ) System Engineer for Safe Positioning System, you are responsible for system engineering and system level architectural design of Safety Critical Positioning System. You have knowledge or experience in the domain of GNSS navigation and in-depth knowledge of (automotive) SoC hosted SW and HW system designs. With this knowledge you are the expert for integrating Position Engine, Measurement Engine, Correction Service, and external sensors (IMU, WSS) to Position System. You help in analysis and verification of the system for functional safety and safety of intended use (SOTIF). You feel responsible for testing, documentation, quality control and maintenance of the source code and you coordinate the support to our application engineers in debugging and providing workarounds of nonconformities. You are able to contribute to new technical concepts, evaluate their feasibility and derive specifications. As a member of international multi-site team of specialized system, software and testing engineers you contribute to the next generation of u-blox’s innovative and competitive safe positioning systems.

Your Responsibilities
- Contribution to, or technical lead of, research and development of safety critical positioning systems
- Specification, design, integration, and verification of HW/SW system architecture
- Analysis and validation of safety and integrity of positioning solutions
- Preparation of technical documentation
Your Skills and Experience
- B.Sc., M.Sc or PhD in geodesy, communication systems, computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics / applied mathematics, or equivalent education.
- Sound standing knowledge and experience in GNSS technology and for example one of the related technologies below
- Correction Service Integration
- Sensor Fusion (esp. integration to system)
- System Timings and Impact of Latencies
- Functional Safety (IEC61508, ISO26262, DO178B or similar), SOTIF (ISO21448) and Product Security (ISO21434 or similar)
- Knowledge on (Automotive) SoCs architectures
- Profound scientific and engineering skills
- Programming experience and understanding of Software Development
- Ability to work as a member of bigger projects. Flexible team player.
- Good communication skills (oral and in writing) in English and corresponding local language
