About us

Emley Moor WMC is a small business in Huddersfield, HD8 9TB. Fully stocked bar, pool room. Function room, seats 60 cosy & comfortable seating. Available to members for a quiet drink, Pool nights, Birthdays, anniversaries, funerals, wakes and charity events, nothing too much trouble. Parking available.

Emley WMC is seeking reliable and personable individual(s) to fill the position of bar staff to undertake all aspects of bar and cellar work. This post is suitable for job-share applicants.

The normal opening times of the Club are 4 evenings per week 8.00 pm until midnight (7.30 pm on Mondays) and Sunday lunch-time (12 noon until 5.00), a total of 21.5 hours per week. The Club is closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and the Club does not have living quarters.

The club is currently closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Any additional opening hours (e.g. pre-booked functions) will be by prior arrangement and staffed accordingly, in agreement with the Committee.

The list of responsibilities and competences below seeks to set out the main requirements and duties of bar staff. It is not exhaustive, and may be varied as required with the agreement of all parties for the benefit of the club and its members.

1. The weekly hours of opening are to be adhered to with no late finishes, or early starts.

2. Evidence of being competent regarding all aspects of bar work is required.

3. Bar staff, including any relief cover should have a clean and tidy appearance when working behind the bar.

4. It is the responsibility of bar staff to ensure that the bar area and cellar are kept clean and tidy at all times.

5. It is the responsibility of bar staff to ensure the bar is adequately stocked at all times, either by using cellar stock, or providing information to designated committee members to arrange further supplies.

6. Bar staff will ensure that appropriate records are kept to assist with stock taking eg spillages.

7. Any post or paperwork is to be filed in the designated folder.

8. Any enquiries regarding room bookings are to be directed to the Secretary at

9. If there are any situations which arise outside these specific areas, then a Committee Member is to be consulted prior to action being taken to obtain advice/guidance/approval. A book is available behind the bar to log any such occurrences, along with a current list of committee members.
