Carpenter
Full-time, 6-Month Term
This is a 6-month term position with the opportunity of full time employment. Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for a variety of maintenance carpentry functions.
This position requires an individual who can work both independently and within a team environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact efficiently with individuals from other departments, schools, divisions or outside organizations are required.
- Removal, installation and fabrication of cabinets and countertops.
- Removal and installation of drop ceilings.
- Steel stud and drywall assembly.
- Concrete forming and finishing.
- Door c/w hardware removal and replacement.
- Playground play structure inspections and repair.
- Minimum five years practical journeyman experience.
- Complete secondary education with a Journeyman Certificate/License.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- Experience working with reading/interpreting engineered blueprints, drawings and specifications.
- Experience with MS Office products and the use of email is an asset.
