About the opportunity
NSW Health Pathology are currently seeking a cleaner in a permanent part time capacity working Monday, Wednesday and Friday 7am to 11am and Tuesday and Thursday 6am to 10am. This position will require the successful candidate to work at two Health facilities, Lidcombe & North Ryde.
Candidates will need to demonstrate a team culture and willingness to support the NSWHP RITE values.

What you'll be doing
Responsible for performing all aspects of cleaning and associated domestic duties to ensure a clean and safe facility, and to comply with guidelines of NSW Health Pathology (NSWHP) and Work Health & Safety (WHS) Policies.

  • Demonstrated sound understanding of industrial standard cleaning techniques, with the ability to apply the most appropriate cleaning agent and method
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as being self motivated when working as an individual
  • Demonstrated comprehensive written communication skills, including reading and understanding chemical labels, and the ability to effectively communicate within a multidisciplinary staff environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Work Health & Safety principles, including safe manual handling techniques
  • Hold a current NSW drivers license and willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the role
  • Demonstrated capacity to adopt and model the NSWHP RITE values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases

This is a Category A position. All Category A applicants must read and understand NSW Health Policy Directive PD2022_030 Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Diseases. All recruits must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. All recruits must provide evidence against specified diseases and comply with the requirements of this policy at their own cost prior to appointment.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
