Immunology Business Unit Director [South Korea]

Organization Overview:
At Lilly Korea, we “unite caring with discovery to create medicines that make life better for people,” and the Immunology Business Unit (BU) Leader will be central to the ability of our affiliate to reach this goal. The Immunology BU Leader will be responsible for the Lilly Immunology team in Lilly Korea, including leading the Sales and Marketing organizations, supporting in-market products/indications, and preparing for future products/indications.

Responsibilities:

Brand Strategy

  • Lead the brand strategy development and continued success of the in-market Immunology products and indications.
  • Prepare for the future launch of new indications and molecules working with the International Business Unit (IBU) and Korea cross-functional teams to understand the market opportunity, develop the commercial launch strategy, and execute the launch operational plan.
  • Provide strategic direction in Korea through identification of key customer insights, developing brand objectives, identifying and addressing issues, and delivering agreed financial performance for the business.
  • Focus on key solutions and developing a touchpoint strategy through multi-channel engagement anchored on these key solutions, which will drive customer experience and efficient resourcing.

Leadership

  • Participate on the affiliate Leadership Team as a key commercial leader within the affiliate responsible for a large team and broad portfolio of products and indications.
  • Foster an environment where employees feel welcomed, valued, respected and heard.
  • Lead the Sales Organization in a dynamic and competitive environment: Cultivate a “winning culture” that is customer-focused, accountable and inspires team performance.
  • Stakeholder management and Influence will be critical in this role. To fully maximize the opportunity in the competitive Immunology space, the BU Leader will be required to engage with PRA and Regulatory teams locally and within the IBU to both understand and partner on optimizing Product Labels and Reimbursement opportunities.
  • Create an environment that cuts across organizational boundaries and adopts best practices.
    • Efficient operational planning and implementation
    • Preparation and management of budgets, reports and forecasts to achieve all KPIs.
  • Ensure that Ethics and Compliance is at the center of all decisions and operations within the team. All activities of the team comply with relevant legislation, regulatory and ethical standards.

Sales

  • Coach, develop, and retain national sales managers and sales representatives who perform effectively as members of the cross-functional team.
  • Lead the team to deliver high levels of customer service and achieve business results with high integrity. Develop Institutional Selling and Account Management skills.

Sales Excellence

  • Coordinates sales operations with all other departments/divisions of the affiliate.
  • Manage the overall SPP & sales operations area by managing and developing various sales/SPP related data/guideline and supporting recommendation of strategic direction for sales team which is aligned to affiliate objectives.
  • Support and partner with the learning and development team to ensure learning and training solutions are aligned with business objectives.


Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or Business preferred; related Masters (MBA) degree optional.
  • 2-3 years of Sales experience required; prior Sales management experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of consistent and sustained top performance in a Marketing leadership role (e.g., Marketing Manager or equivalent) required.

  • Strong business acumen with expertise in strategic planning, analysis and brand management to develop brand and business strategic direction.
  • Ability to leverage Thought Leader relationships in line with brand strategy.
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills, teamwork and collaboration with ability to develop and maintain strong internal cross functional relationships.
  • Expertise in execution excellence, including strong problem-solving skills, timely decision making, influence and negotiation skills, and operational plan development and implementation experience.
  • High standard of ethics and compliance
