We are seeking one experienced Cook to join our friendly and busy team at Cactus Creme Cafe, Whanganui.
This is a permanent full-time position with the pay ranging between $28.18 to $31.61 per hour depending on the level of experience. We require at least three years of relevant experience and/or NZQF Level 2 or 3 qualification in Cookery.
As we are a small team, you will be required to work Monday to Sunday with a 7am start. You will work a minimum of 30 to 40 hours per week.
Tasks Include but are not limited to:
- examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
- regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
- preparing and cooking food
- seasoning food during cooking
- portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
- storing food in temperature controlled facilities
- preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
- may plan menus and estimate food requirements
- may train other kitchen staff and apprentices
- Prepare and cook food, and may also wash dishes and clean the kitchen area
- Ordering and control of stock levels
You must have your own reliable transportation to and from work.
