Materials & Processes Project Engineer (F/M/D) [Germany]


 

Job Description:

A vacancy for Materials and Processes Project Engineers has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Bremen. The sucessful applicant will support projects from Space Exploration and Military Air Systems with Materials and Processes skills.

Your location

Bremen is a charming city full of history in the northwest of Germany. In addition to being one of the country’s greenest cities, it offers wonderful sights, a rich culture, urban flair and culinary delights. It’s also a great place for seaside lovers, being located just an hour’s drive from the North Sea coast.

Main responsibilities:

  • Translate program and project requirements into M&P requirements and specifications
  • Manage workpackages with regard to to time, cost and quality and proactively communicate on progress and blocking points
  • Establish and maintain schedules for deliverables within the workpackage in line with project needs
  • Contribute to program and project milestones and major review
  • Evaluate materials and processes for thier usability in the different projects
  • Analysis and documentation of materials and process specifications and standards to demonstrate compliance with project requirements
  • Representation of Materials & Processes in design reviews and drawing release, support selection of materials and processes
  • Provide M&P expertise and guide our stakeholders to the best solution
  • Execution of Materials & Processes Control Boards in direct contact with internal and external suppliers and customers
  • Execution of qualifications in the frame of M&P

Position requirements:

  • Background in Material Science or other Engineering discipline with proven experience in materials and processes
  • Project management experience
  • Industrial experience in aerospace business, experience in space projects is a plus
  • Proficient use of computers, Microsoft office, GSuite, Windchill, Confluence, SAP
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Willingness to travel
