DESCRIPTIONS:

Kizer Energy is seeking an experienced Refining Operations Superintendent to provide daily appropriate analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills to fulfill the responsibilities outlined below and generate quality results. This role will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the facility. The role involves managing a team of operators and technicians, ensuring safe and efficient production processes, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to the operations team, ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
  • Set clear operational goals, objectives, and targets, and develop strategies to achieve them.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize refinery operations and maximize efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and actively seek opportunities to enhance operational performance.
  • Implement and enforce effective safety programs and procedures to minimize accidents and incidents.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations, and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Develop production plans and schedules in coordination with other departments to meet production targets and customer demands.
  • Monitor and analyze operational data, such as production rates, yields, energy consumption, and equipment performance, to identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance department to plan and execute maintenance activities, minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, permits, and licenses.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports, including production reports, safety statistics, and regulatory compliance documentation.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes relevant to refinery operations.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures to effectively handle incidents and emergencies.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders, such as emergency services, local authorities, and neighboring facilities, in emergency situations.
  • Conduct drills and exercises to test and improve the emergency response capabilities of the operations team.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 15-plus years of overall professional experience; ideally 10-plus years of broad Operational Lead Positions in Refinery Facilities in operations management experience.
  • Strong understanding of refinery operations, including refining processes, Hands-on experience with various refining processes, such as de-salting, distillation, catalytic cracking, hydrotreating, and product blending.
  • Proficiency skills in the English Language - Portuguese is a plus.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures, environmental regulations, and industry standards related to refinery operations.
  • Deep commitment to safety and environmental compliance, with a track record of implementing and enforcing safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of process safety management (PSM) principles, risk assessment techniques, and incident investigation procedures.
