This is an exciting time to be joining the Barnardo's Health Directorate as a Programme Support Officer. This role is integral to supporting the health team in implementing its ambitious integrated health and social care strategy.

We are looking for a Programme Support Officer to support with the smooth running of multiple projects and programmes that drive forward the health strategy. This role is dynamic and varied, with significant opportunities to get involved with interesting internal and external-facing projects.

The successful candidate will be required to support projects that drive forward internal culture change, development, and strategic growth. This is a key role to enable transformational change at scale and pace. The key functions of the role include overseeing project plans & identifying risks; managing the health team Twitter account and growing connections; supporting with event planning and logistics; supporting the health communication strategy; researching into emerging health trends and needs for children, young people, and families. The role also requires supporting and coordinating internal and external meetings, liaising with stakeholders, and keeping an up-to-date stakeholder list.

We are open to candidates with varied career history who can meet the person specification however the position is ideal for people who have previously worked in the voluntary sector or in the NHS.

This role will work within a fast-paced environment and as part of a supportive, caring, and dynamic team. We are looking for someone with a positive, can-do attitude who can use their initiative to make decisions, manage multiple tasks within a tight timeframe and lead on key projects both independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills are essential. Someone with social media and event support experience would be desirable.

This role will form part of the Health Directorate and is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in supporting transformational change to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people.

This post will operate as part of a remote team. The role is home-based, with some travel to regional hubs to provide support or to attend meetings.

Salary shown is a salary range, the starting salary can be negotiated for exceptional candidates.
